Missouri would win the toss and defer, allowing UMass the opportunity to start with the ball first. Unfortunately for the minutemen, the drive would last about one minute. The Tigers would get the ball and immediately feed Ahmad Hardy, who would pick up 14 yards right away. It would continue to be the Hardy show, picking up 41 yards on 5 carries. At the nine-yard line, Jamal Roberts would run it in for the Tigers’ first TD of the day, making it 7-0 with 10:12 to go in the first quarter.

Nothing much to say here, another three-and out forced by the Tiger defense and the offense would start at their own 40.

The Tigers would sustain a nice drive, as Pribula connected with Kevin Coleman for two straight first downs. However, Pribula would throw a pick, and it would get returned all the way to the Tigers 21. The Minutemen would score, capitalizing on a pass interference on third down. A play action would make the defense bite, giving UMass its first TD. The PAT was blocked, making it 7-6 with 4:31 to go in the first.

After limping off prior, Ahmad Hardy would return to the game. The Tigers would start at their own 44 and immediately connect on a few short pass plays for 15 yards total. Jamal Roberts would pick up a 30-yard run and Ahmad Hardy would run it in from five yards out. 14-6 Tigers.

UMass would get a nice drive going, starting off with a pass up the seam for a gain of 15 and a few 4-5 yard runs. However, the drive would stall out at the Tigers 47, thanks to a Khalil Jacobs TFL on 3rd and 5. Tigers would take over at the 11.

Missouri would precede to go on a long 14-play, 89 yard drive. The drive was highlited by a 16-yard pass to Brett Norfleet and and a 15-yard run by Ahmad Hardy. Hardy would run it in from one yard out, getting his second touchdown of the game. 21-6 Tigers with 4:45 to go in the half. The Tigers rushing offense has been dominant thus far.

The teams would then trade a pair of three-and-outs.

Mizzou would get the ball with just under one minute, getting to the UMass 40 with one second on the clock. Mizzou would attempt a hail mary, but Pribula would be sacked for the third time. 21-6 Tigers going into the half.

Missouri would march down immediately on it’s first drive, thanks to a nice run from Coleman and a nice reception by Jude James. Ahmad Hardy would run it in from 16, making it 28-6 Tigers.

UMass three-and-out. Enough said.

Missouri would then get a three-and-out of it’s own. UMass would take over at their own 25.

Another three-and-out. It is beginning to be a trend in this game.

Missouri would pick up a few first downs, but a botched snap would put the tigers at 2nd and 21. The offense would be unable to overcome the loss and punt the ball away at the 38. A nice punt would pin UMass at the 3.

Missouri would shortly get it’s first interception of the year, with Santana Banner being in the right spot at the right time, returning it to the nine-yard line. Missouri would get it’s first TD pass of the game, with a nine-yard pass from Beau Pribula to Brett Norfleet. 35-6 Tigers.

UMass three-and-out. Surprise, surprise.

Matt Zollers and the second-stringers would come in to start the fourth quarter, starting the drive at the UMass 37, courtesy of a good punt return by DeMarion Fowlkes. Zollers would complete a pass, and Tavorus Jones would have some really nice carries. Jones would score from three yards out, 42-6 Tigers.

Tommy Lock would come in for the Tigers on the next drive. After a nice first down run by Marquise Davis, the drive would come to an end, resulting in a Tiger punt.

UMass would go nowhere. Another punt.

Missouri would spend it’s last drive with a heavy dose of Marquise Davis. Davis would have numerous solid runs.

Ahmad Hardy finished with 24 carries, 130 yards, and 3 touchdowns. Today’s star of the game.
